The work was depending on 

-          Medical test for younger children by Pediatrician and Physiatrist ( with another counsel for Multi-disciplinary team

-          Speech screening and rehabilitation for articulation and language disorder

-          Visual screening

-          Awareness

-          Research : about the common causes for disability and it's relation to  Social-economic conditions  in ten villages around maskana

The examination were for (150) child rated from the  mobile clinic and medicinal or families to make the tests and send who need a therapy to maskana center

Speech screening and rehabilitation for articulation and language disorder

 

The speech screening were done for (73) child

-          (5 ) need to prove  or deny the autism

-          (16) with hearing loss and need ENT  follow up and hearing aid

-          (2) stuttering disorder and need rehabilitation program

-          (6) no need for language therapy just recommendations for parents

-          (29) need a language therapy

-          (6) down syndrome

-          (13) cerebral palsy with language delay

Awareness

 

Launch of public awareness at schools against marriage of immediate relatives and the importance of conducting pre-marriage medical tests

in collaboration with the Directorate of Education in Aleppo

Objective:

Wide distribution amongst the 5^th and 6^th  year students in Damascus and Aleppo of the ‘wax  flower’, which aims towards alerting the young generation against marriage of immediate relatives, the outcome of which could be handicapped children.  Also, conducting pre-marriage medical tests could help identify long standing family diseases.

Special heartfelt thanks are extended to the Partners of this project - Ministry of Education, Directorate of Education in Damascus, Directorate of Education in Aleppo, Aleppo City Council, Madinatuna Project,   Syrian Women Site, Syrian TV, Damascus broadcast, Arabisc broadcast, and Baladuna Newspaper.

Activities:

• The project merge coordinators to interpret the concept of the story to the psychic counselors .

• The psychic counselors to make the concept of the story clear to the children .

• Prepare a simple play covering the story’s events and get it played by the children .
• Mr Manar Maamari, the author,  to share in the interpretation of  the concept of the story
• 

 

• Media press to participate in this public awareness at a wider level .

                  

• Active participation by school children.

For promotion the relations with the local comity to facilitate the communication with the families small rose association had made a breakfast in corporation with the local comity  for the children and their families in maskana , then the gifts had been given  to the children and their mommies( sponsored by nestle – magi – xo stores for clothes – abo al-abed sweets)
